What 'Caprica' Is About:
The prequel of the Cylon/human conflict told in Battlestar Galactica. Daniel Graystone and Joseph Adama both lose their daughters in a train bombing. When Graystone discovers his daughter, Zoe, had created a virtual version of herself, he becomes obsessed with bringing her avatar into the real world, using a robotic body known as a Cylon.

Origins:
Battlestar Galactica creator Ronald D. Moore parlayed the huge success of the Syfy series into a spin-off that told the beginnings of the Cylons. A key figure behind the series is writer/producer Jane Espenson.

Key 'Caprica' Characters:
The series centers around the family heads, civil right lawyer Joseph Adama (Esai Morales), a Tauron immigrant, and Graystone (Eric Stoltz), a defense contractor. The second focus is Zoe (Alessandra Torresani) and her friend Lacy (Magda Apanowicz).
