John de Lancie, best known as the twinkle-eyed omnipotent mischiefmaker Q in the Star Trek franchise but who's also poked his head onto SG-1 and Torchwood, has been cast as one of the elders on The Secret Circle, says TV Guide. De Lancie will play Royce Armstrong, the powerful, yet recluse grandfather of Jake (Chris Zylka). Royce comes out of hiding to reveal disturbing conspiracy theories about the events of 16 years ago and how the present-day circle is involved. He'll show up in episode 19, currently slated for April 19.
Former regular Misha Collins returns to Supernatural after almost an entire season out of sight, in the season's 17th episode, "The Born-Again Identity," airing Friday, March 23. The network's description gives little indication of exactly what Collins will be doing in the ep: "Lucifer drives Sam to the breaking point and Sam ends up in a mental hospital. Desperate to save his brother, Dean calls every hunter he knows for help. One of the hunters gives him the name of a healer who turns out to have a very familiar face." So is Collins playing Castiel, or his vessel Jimmy Novak, or someone else--and with what kind of awareness of what's gone before? However it turns out it'll be great to see him again.
David Zayas, one of the mainstays of Dexter, is guesting on Grimm as a criminal monster-of-the-week. Zayas will be playing Sal Burrel, a monstrous troll-like creature known as a Hasslich. Sal, a city building inspector heading up a racketeering scheme, runs into a problem when the beaver-eqsue Eisbiber community defies his demands for a cut of their earnings, says TVLine. Zayas's stint will be on episode 19 of that show, coyly called "Leave It to the Beavers."
