8. Smallville Season 8
It's been a strange year, and in retrospect it sure had a lot going on: Clark finally taking up his dual role as a Daily Planet reporter/Metropolis hero (though as yet only as the Red-Blue Blur), the arrival of superheroes from the future, and the building threat of Davis Bloome/Doomsday (Sam Witwer, wringing the most from a difficult role) – not to mention an unexpectedly dark climax. The 6-disc DVD set includes some commentary tracks, deleted scenes, and two featurettes: "In the Director's Chair: Behind the Lens and Calling the Shots with Allison Mack" (she directed "Power", 803), and "Smallville's Doomsday: The Making of a Monster."
