Summary
A young man possessed of an ancient staff finds himself in Old China, where he must risk his life to return the staff to its rightful owner.
Comments
The periodic fight sequences, which are okay but not life-altering, fail to hide the fact that this long-awaited pairing of Jet Li and Jackie Chan occurs in a movie that isn't even about them -- it's about the Angarano character, who goes from martial arts novice to genius somewhere during the film. The scenery is visually unimpressive, too, compared to other recent Hong Kong films popular in the States. A huge missed opportunity.
