Flying Swords of Dragon Gate (2012)
A sprawling and beautiful, if convoluted, epic action flick, Flying Swords, like its plot, is folded in on itself: it's both a sequel to a remake, namely the same director's New Dragon Inn (1992), and a remake of that movie's source material (King Hu's Dragon Inn, 1967).
Formats: DVD, 3-D, and Blu-ray.
The story: Set three years after Dragon Inn, innkeeper Jade has disappeared and a new inn has risen from the ashes--one that's staffed by marauders masquerading as law-abiding citizens, who hope to unearth the fabled lost city buried in the desert.
Starring: Jet Li (Zhao Gwai On); Xun Zhou (Ling Yan Qiu); Kun Chen (Yu Hua Tian/Bok Chang Zhou/Blade in the Wind); Yuchun Li (Gu Shao Tang); Mavis Fan (Su Huai Yong); Siu-Wong Fan (Ma Jing Liang)..
