Mark's Sci-Fi / Fantasy BlogTennant Talks Religion, Flamboyant Clothes, and Climate ChangeAs long as we're talking about Doctor Who, which is premiering its fourth season stateside this weekend, I wanted to point out a rare print interview with star David Tennant that ran in the London Sunday Times earlier this month – fun partly because it's conducted by his former landlady and friend, Arabella Weir.
Weir talks with the actor about his meticulousness and his "steely" determination to succeed; the influence of his father, a popular Church of Scotland minister, on his drive and attitudes; his "metrosexuality"; and how tricky it is for celebrities to be involved even in causes they believe in. Weir's interview complements her own assessments of her ex-flatmate, among which is her conclusion that Tennant's success "is down to a fusion of talent and unshakable self-belief." Tennant, by the way, just turned 37 on Friday. Happy birthday, David.
