My Babysitter's a Vampire is not the highest profile of supernatural series: there are too many vampires out there, after all, and even asked to name a kids-aimed fantasy series most would name Wizards of Waverly Place first, or the forthcoming Aliens Vs Wizards, before the vampire offering, which completed season 2 this fall on Teletoon in Canada and, in the States and elsewhere, Disney Channel.

But My Babysitter has been garnering steady recognition as well as solid rating with young audiences. Most recently it's added the 2012 Shaw Rocket Prize, a kids'-jury awarded honor that comes with C$50,000 for best Canadian kids show based on its quality and online presence, to its metaphorical mantel. The award joins wins this year at the Canadian Screenwriting Awards and a Pixie Award for excellence in CGI.

Whither Ethan, Sarah, Bennie and the rest? The creators, Fresh TV, still have not confirmed they'll be making a third season.
