A report at Latino Review, which spins pop culture from a Latino perspective, that mentioned FX passing on the second pilot was picked up at a few other comic-book websites that have been monitoring the nearly two-year-long Powers saga. But it's all rubbish, says the man behind the TV adaptation, Brian Michael Bendis.
"Reports in Latino Review about the powers pilot are 100% false. Every name and fact are incorrect," Bendis tweeted shortly after the first reports. Then he jokingly added, "Except for where they like my writing."
Bendis, in fact, has been hinting the "good news" is coming on Powers. With a confirmed fan in FX president John Landgraf, who opted for the retooling when the first pilot wasn't up to the concept's potential, it's easy to suppose that the network and creators is in the last stages of tweaking to make sure the long-brewing expectations are met. Watch this space.
