Two familiar faces will be joining next summer's run of Falling Skies, both for five-episode stints--which, for Falling Skies, constitutes half a season.

Former House star Robert Sean Leonard will appear as Roger Kadar, Ph.D., described by the producers as a talented though obsessive scientist who runs Charleston's power grid from an underground bunker, living with his pet rats and scientific equipment. (But of course, the question everyone's asking is: Will there be bromance?) This sounds like an absolutely awesome role for Leonard, who's brilliant at smart, obsessive, and bedraggled.

Meanwhile another ER alum will be reuniting with Noah Wyle on Falling Skies: Gloria Reuben will star in a five-episode gig as Tom Mason's aide, Marina Perlata. And Jessy Schram will be recurring again as Karen Nadler, if you were wondering.

Season 3 will air in the summer of 2013 on TNT, but the exact date has not yet been announced.

Really pleased to hear that Falling Skies has a third series. Thoroughly enjoyed series 2-so much better than series 1, less sickly sweet.
