That's one seductive succubus: the Canadian supernatural series Lost Girl, which is due to get its United States debut Jan. 16 on Syfy, has been easily renewed back home for a third season.

Right now the Canadian network showcase is leading up to the midseason finale of season 2 on Dec. 18, with nine more episodes scheduled to return to Showcase on Jan. 22. Since launching in September 2010, Lost Girl has become Showcase's highest-rated drama series, with the second season averaging close to 400,000 viewers.
The star has been reveling in the show's twists and turns as much as the fans (and the network). Anna Silk told Digital Spy earlier this year that the show is always "evolving and changing". "I don't even know what's in store for the end of the [second] season yet," she explained. "I only know what comes to me every week in the scripts, so it's exciting for me to see how it's changing as well."
Production on season 3 will begin in the spring. Season 1 had 13 episodes and season 2 was expanded to 22 episodes. The episode count for season 3 was not announced, but given Showcase's enthusiasm for the program it may well be another full-season run of 22 episodes.
