The Writers' Guild of Great Britain, the trade union representing writers in TV, radio, theatre, books, poetry, film, online and video games in the UK, held its awards ceremony this weekend. As it turns out, all the nominees in the drama category had supernatural elements, the others being Doctor Who and Ashes to Ashes.
On the movie side, the screenplays for Kick-Ass (Best Original Screenplay, to Jane Goldman and Matthew Vaughn) and Moon (Best First Feature-Length Screenplay, to Duncan Jones and Nathan Parker) were also honored.
Warm congrats to Toby Whithouse and the folks at the British Being Human. Here's hoping those behind Syfy's North American adaptation are clear on the standard they're expected to live up to.
Both seasons of Being Human are out on home video in North America. If you haven't seen it, you're missing out.
