After airing last summer on NBC, the smashing British fantasy series Merlin, which stars Colin Morgan as a young Merlin and Bradley James as Prince Arthur, is being swapped over to NBC's cousin, Syfy, for the airing of season 2, as yet unaired in America. (I've seen some of season 2 and it's stronger than ever.)

Syfy picked up the basic cable rights for all 26 episodes of the series made so far, including the US premiere of season 2. Syfy will premiere Merlin in April, which, if Syfy broadcasts the show weekly from the beginning (as they did with, e.g., Primeval), presumably means we'll get the new episodes of season 2 sometime in midsummer.

More good news for Merlin fans: the BBC is moving forward with season 3 of the hit series, slated to air in the UK in September.
