Syfy is moving forward with a new supernatural drama series called Haven, based on the Stephen King novella The Colorado Kid, and developed by veterans of King's last big TV series adaptation, Stephen King's The Dead Zone.
Thirteen episodes of Haven will be produced by E1 Entertainment and it is the first program to be produced for Syfy Pay channels worldwide (excluding Canada and Scandinavia). Production begins early next year and the series is expected to premiere in 2010.
The basic idea for the story is that the town of Haven, Maine, is studded with individuals with paranormal abilities who've lived for generations because the town stifles their powers; this way, they can lead normal lives. Naturally all this is spoiled when an FBI agent, Audrey Parker, arrives to solve a murder and uncovers a deeper mystery about the town.
The team of creators is led by veterans of TV sci-fi in general and, more particularly, of Stephen King's The Dead Zone (2002-2007). Scott Shepherd will be the showrunner (The Equalizer, Quantum Leap, Tru Calling), with Lloyd Segan and Shawn Piller (who recently worked together on Greek) serving as executive producers; all three worked on Dead Zone. Sam Ernst and Jim Dunn are writing the pilot and will also serve as executive producers; together they co-wrote two season 6 episodes of Dead Zone (the one with the space shuttle, and the one with the exploding bus station).

It looks like Eureka but in a darker way
I reside in Canada so will be left out and out of luck..Does anyone know if it will be released to dvd so I can rent it someday? I am one of Steven King’s biggest fans and am elated when a movie or series is released.
if anyone knows about the dvd release, please let me know.
