Review: V
Tuesday November 3, 2009
The new incarnation of V has figured out what went right and what went wrong in the 80s installments of the franchise, and has delivered what looks so far to be a superior reimagining of a concept that has a great deal of inherent potential.
The new series premieres Tuesday, Nov. 3 on ABC. For my review, go here.

I have to agree. This version looks to be much more sinister, and much more relevant to today.
And maybe a bit less hopeful?
I agreed with your review, Mark. Back in the day, I thought it was the greatest thing when it was a couple of mini-series, but when it got picked up as a regular TV series, they really screwed it up. I was a little worried about the new incarnation, but as you said, they seem to have actually LOOKED at the original and kept what worked and threw out what didn’t. Making it relevant to today by adding the stuff about everyone’s worries about terrorism was a nice touch, too.
i agree the reboot is better . it somehow reminds me of bbc’s Secret Army although that was even more paranoid .
I liked the adress of the meeting and i expect some way or another they ll get on an oceanic flight somewhere in the show too . The original also had V support for the humans but it was limited to a mentally challenged alien , this reboot has a genuine fifth column and it ads ALOT to the story line .
i hope it gets picked up , figers crossed .
