Craig Olejnik stars in The Listener.

The charming, low-key series, which stars Craig Olejnik, will be replaced on NBC by Law & Order reruns starting July 30. The balance of the 13 episodes will continue to air in Canada on its home network, CTV, and on the cable channel Space, and will also be available to stream on NBC.com (and, probably, hulu.com). The ratings have been decent in Canada, pulling just short of a million viewers; but NBC is unsatisfied with the numbers it's been getting.
This is another case of a sweet little show not being given a chance to slowly build a following. Olejnik is a natural, drawing the viewer in with big eyes and easy compassion, and there's something really right about how its everyday-guy-with-powers trope, even with the undercurrent of suspense surrounding missing memories from his childhood, is anything but overwrought.
With luck the show will be enough of a success in Canada that it will be able to continue on their sets, and in the download queues of Americans lucky enough to have found out about it.

TOO BAD!! I THOUGHT THE SHOW WAS GREAT!! WAS REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING THE NEXT ONE. IT WAS MY THURSDAY NIGHT SHOW TO WATCH.
The Listener was the only show that I’ve enjoyed watching this summer. I was SO disappointed when I turned on the television last Thursday to a rerun of Law & Order instead of the show. TOO BAD!!!!
I am very disappointed that everytime I like a show, they cancel it. This was the only show I looked forward to every thursday….. Very upsetting!

Please bring it back! There is far too much horror movies and bloodshed on TV.This show was more of a pleasant show to watch. Please see what can be done!!!
Waiting!!
After Charlie died, the show got kind of repetitive :/
Sad it’s being cancelled though!!!
