In fact ABC has established a time slot this summer just for leftover episodes from canceled shows. And it's stuck in the loneliest corner of its schedule – Saturday nights at 10 p.m., a slot so unwanted it's currently occupied by reruns of the new series Castle (starring Firefly vet Nathan Fillion).
ABC canceled both Eli Stone and Pushing Daisies before they could complete their second seasons, which in both cases had already been been limited to 13 episodes. Of the sophomore season of Pushing Daisies, 10 episodes were aired last fall, leaving three unaired. Nine episodes of Eli Stone's season 2 were aired, leaving four unaired.
The other outstanding series canceled by ABC this season, Life on Mars, completed its truncated 17-episode order.
ABC plans on airing remaining episodes of Pushing Daisies May 30 through June 13 at 10 p.m. The surplus Eli Stone episodes will be shown afterwards in the same slot, June 20 through July 11.
These will then be followed by the balance of Dirty Sexy Money, which was canceled in November at the same time as Eli and Daisies, from July 18 through August 8.
