Wesley to Star in Vampire Diaries

Fallen star Paul Wesley is set take on yet another metahuman role, starring opposite Nina Dobrev (Degrassi: The Next Generation) in The CW's pilot for Vampire Diaries as one of two vampire brothers.

Wesley will portray Stefan, who's described as an amazingly beautiful young man who turns out to be 200 years old. Dobrev will play the tragic heroine, Elena who is caught in a love battle between the two blood-thirsty brothers, Stefan and Damon; the other brother, Damon, is played by Ian Somerhalder (Lost). The pilot is being developed by Kevin Williamson (Scream, Dawson's Creek).

Wesley previously played one of the nephilim, children of angels and humans, in ABC Family's Fallen, which was also adapted from a series of successful novels. He also starred in Everwood and 24 and had a memorable turn as Lucas Luther in a season 2 episode of Smallville.
