Interview: Torchwood's Naoko Mori
Saturday February 23, 2008
I was very happy to have a chance to talk with Naoko Mori, one of the stars of Torchwood – especially as I had just watched the next four episodes after the season premiere and been very impressed. The fifth episode of the new season, in particular, about a stranger who inserts himself into the Torchwood team without their even realizing it, was tremendous. This episode, "Adam," added layers to all five characters and even revealed some of the long-hidden past of the enigmatic team leader, Captain Jack Harkness, all while being great fun to watch.
"Adam" may be the best Torchwood episode yet, but Naoko tells us there's much more to come in a season full of twists, turns, and goodies – not the least of which is Freema Agyeman's three-episode guest starring arc, starting with the sixth episode, "Reset." Meanwhile, in the interview, Naoko talks about how much fun she's having on and off screen with her irrepressible castmates.
I've also scraped together an image gallery of Naoko's work on (and before) Torchwood.
