Update: Second "Menagerie" Night Added
Tuesday October 23, 2007
Fathom Events has announced that more screenings of the digitally remastered Star Trek episode "The Menagerie" have been added.
As I reported a few days ago, the revamped episode and accompanying making-of featurette was originally slated to be shown in theasters on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m. only.
There are now going to be three screenings: Tuesday, November 13th at 7:30 p.m. and Thursday, November 15th at 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. local time in nearly 300 participating AMC, Cinemark, Georgia Theatre Company and Regal Entertainment Group movie theatres in the United States and Canada.
The event features original Season 1 episodes “The Menagerie” Part 1 and 2, showing in their original TV format (4x3) and digitally remastered in High-Definition and Cinema Surround Sound, accompanied by a behind-the-scenes look at how the episodes were digitally re-mastered from the original negatives – including the reinvention of the old TV show special effects using new CGI animation, and the orchestral re-recording of the show’s theme music – in a newly produced 30-minute featurette.
Tickets are on sale now for $12.50 at presenting theatre box offices and online at www.FathomEvents.com. A complete list of participating cinemas is available here.
